ION: the sanitising water-based paint that purifies air and surfaces in everyday environments
In recent years, industrial development and urbanisation have contributed to an increasingly significant rise in pollution in the environments where we live. Agents such as formaldehyde, pentachlorophenol, radon and fine particles can cause skin irritation, neurological problems and even certain forms of cancer in the most serious cases.
ION by Isoldesign is a sanitising, anti-mould and antibacterial water-based paint developed with internationally patented technology that transforms walls into natural filters, actively improving indoor air quality in the environments we experience every day.
Composed of silver and ceramic glass nanoparticles, hollow glass microspheres and colloidal silica, ION works through a patented active principle that emits negative ions and, by exploiting air humidity, generates ionised water molecules with antibacterial properties that reduce bacteria, mould, formaldehyde and airborne micro-pollutants, without the use of harmful chemical additives. Its effect is self-cleaning, natural and constant over time.
At Isoldesign, we work with maximum precision in every process, whether it involves sound-absorbing solutions or sanitising paint. To develop customised solutions, we measure the quantity of negative ions per cm³ within environments using the Air Ion Counter, which allows us to create paints with specific anion concentrations, molecules which, by acquiring a negative electric charge, become negative ions.
